Artist's Comments

I mixed clay for 4 days. I wish I had mixed more...
As always, I take a mix of clay and I use my hands and random sharp and flat toots to shape the clay into tiny little fairies. After a few hours I had this little being curled in the palm of my hand.
I'm tired of seeing all brown skinned dolls looking native. Don't get me started. We have all sorts of white fairy princesses but every time there is a brown fairy she automatically has to be "African". Well, you know what? Science tells us that we all (white folks too) originated from Africa.
Hopping down off my soapbox....
Expect some brown skinned fairy princesses.
Finished another doll. Can't wait to share her! I love her!! She's brown too :-)

Oh, I blushed her but let a teenage artist paint her. So there are issues I have with it. But I feel like I did a good thing by working with a young person and letting them see what it's like to do what I do.

She was surprised that it was so hard...LOL! I cracked up. If it was easy, everyone would do it...

I would love to see some more pictures of this one to see the details. She looks beautiful :)

She had wonderful details but it's just so tiny. Having a hard time...

What kind of details are you looking for? It will help me add the right picture.

I would love to see her face and her wings and the designs painted on her body. What you need is a Star Trek style hologram program so you could just scan her in and let us look at her in 3D ;).

I know how hard it can be to take a picture of something so small. Maybe you could find a huge artificial sunflower that she could lay on the middle of or something of the sort. It would give the doll a lovely background and give a sense of scale.

I did another one but will probably only have enough clay left for one more tiny baby,

I just have an old camera that has a hard time catching detail.
